HOPE IN DESPAIR
I once trod upon the pathway of an irreparable loss
An irrevocable one that kept my tears streaming down like the Victorian falls.
My mother’s untimely exit once fashioned my lacrimal glands
They were moulded to become like the smoke that thunders!
Then I sobbed and sobbed ceaselessly upon her untimely retirement.
But my flood of tears have since then receded with the passage of time as healer.
I have had my despair drowned,
Drowned by daily routines that did characterise her.
I still sob, but with a posthumous intent.
A posthumous intent that does resurrect her.
She stands resurrected with her laudable legacies.
Laudable legacies that constitute her daily revival.
Legacies that beam the sun’s rays through tearful floods of grief!
Her legacies re-create her in my grief-stricken world.
And her legacies re-create her for another world I hope to see.
