Ever After by Shamim Akhtar

EVER AFTER

In the weary hues of a setting sun,
Another evening set to quietly fade away.
Dimly lit candles, their flames in the breeze,
Will once more breathe, sigh, melt, and sway.
The night will cradle all its stars,
As memories drift along the Milky Way.
And then this night, too, shall pass –
Like all nights, day after day.
